the best word to describe aiden is a gentleman. he might not be the loudest person in the room, but even if he doesn't know you, he'll open the door for you on the way out, pull a lady's chair out for her when she sits down to dinner, and smile at any stranger he sees as he walks down the street. he doesn't think it takes much to be a good person and show some manners, even to somebody you don't know, and he strives hard to make some people's life better. even if he doesn't get rewarded in return; that's not what matters, even if some rude people don't even thank him for holding the door for them. he just brushes it off, and carries on with life, because if you stay stuck in the past forever, you'll never properly live in the present. very little really gets him worked up. he bears grudges, but certainly not about silly little things such as a random display of rudeness, especially by a stranger. most of the time, he'll hold a grudge against you even if you've done nothing wrong to him in particular -- if you hurt his friends or family he'll probably be pretty pissed at you, and it is generally the only time he'll ever lose his temper. however, considering his temper is very mild, many people don't even realise he's mad at them -- he isn't the most vocal of people, but is much more happier that way than being the center of attention all the time.

generally though, he is very laid back about life. he just goes with the flow and lives for the present. being in a band may not be the best job financially and sure, he may never actually settle down or at least, for quite a while, but that doesn't bother him in the slightest. as a kid, he never really had much ambition. people would ask him what he wanted to do with his life, and he'd only be able to shrug, whilst others his age were already planning out their life story and what they'd write in their autobiography; even what they were naming their children. he's not even all that interested in settling down. he loves to travel, to see new places and meet new people. he has a very adventurous spirit, so seeing all these new countries is actually really exciting for him, and one of the things about being in a band that he loves the most. he would probably end up terribly bored in the average nine to five job, not even going out of his own country because he can't afford to take the time off of work. life in a band is very spontaneous, which is right up his street. he hates plans; he hates scheduling his life and knowing exactly what is going to happen next, and there is nothing he'd hate more than being in a dead end job in his hometown, only a ten minute drive away from his family.

despite his lack of ambition, when aiden wants something, he is very persistent in reaching his goal. you can't fault the boy for his stubbornness, no matter how it might drive some people around the bend. usually, he isn't very interested in arguing his point, or convincing someone of his point of view. rather, he would much rather be out achieving goals and doing things. when he had been begging his mother to let him go on one of the school trips to spain, he went out and raised half of the money for the trip himself. he is very good at getting what he wants, and is determined enough to go chasing even the silliest and unrealistic of dreams, even though he knows that some of the dreams really are unachievable. he was gifted with a decent brain and a good memory and even though he might not be the best with words, or the most confident out there, he definitely has a gift with people, and happens to be quite persuasive.

however, aiden can also be very impatient. he hates sitting around just waiting for something to happen, or waiting for people to turn up. he happens to be very restless and dislikes sitting still for a long time. he's okay on the tour bus or on the plane whilst they're travelling as there is something to do on both of them, but sitting still with nothing better to do, like in school, used to get on his nerves quite a bit. he thought of it as wasting valuable time just sitting around -- there was always something better he could be doing and he feels quite useless not being able to get up and do something. also, he can become very jealous quite easily. after an argument between aiden and his ex girlfriend, she would go out and flirt heavily with every man she saw just to wind him up, and needless to say it worked very well. he would always end up apologising to her because it drove him insane seeing her act like a slut to every passing man when they were dating. he really hates how jealous he can get and just how easily he can be made jealous -- it is one of his biggest flaws, and one he would definitely like to iron out.
